Remove A Sliding Glass Door Frame

Do the same on both the left and right ends of the sliding door.

Remove a sliding glass door frame.

The general steps you ll be taking are as follows. Removing an andersen sliding stationary patio door. Sliding panel open the sliding panel. You may need the philips screwdriver again to free the door from the track.

Determine the size of the screwdriver you ll need reach back into the gap with your screwdriver and adjust that screw counter clockwise as far as it will go. Ask a helper to hold the sliding door and the remove the screw with a cordless drill. Sometimes these screws are covered in plugs that are usually easy to remove. Use the phillips screwdriver to loosen the adjustment screws so you can pull up the rollers.

Removing the screws that hold the sliding door in place tipping it out carefully finding and removing all screws and fasteners caulk that holds the stationary door in place prying the frame out of place if removing the entire door in preparation. Once you remove all the screws lift the door up and make sure that it is completely removed from the bottom track of the door frame. Remove this cap because as you ll notice it is covering a gap inside of which is a screw. Tilt the door inward and lift up to remove it from the frame and the bottom track.

Initial steps the sliding door also has a moving panel and a stationary panel along with a door frame. When the screw is removed the stop will come off the frame which will allow the door to tilt inward. At the bottom of this panel locate the position of the adjustment roller.
