Locate the hinges on either side of the door and flip the latch up.
Remove ge gas range oven door hinge lock.
Detach the oven door.
Range oven door won t unlock.
If no food or utensils are in the oven start a self clean cycle then hit clear off after 60 seconds.
If you can t find your door pin try this.
It will lock but snap back easily you will not yet.
If there are screws near the top or front that attach the oven top to the base unscrew them and pull the oven top up.
While you hold the door jamb switch in this position complete the following steps.
Hold the oven door tightly closed and try to slide the lock back and forth.
Many newer ovens will have these screws more concealed than older models.
With the oven door removed and on the floor pull the hinge out as far as you can with your hands.
This may require a bit of gentle downward pressure.
The oven door has been locked accidentally.
Move the oven door to the fully open position.
Press the clean pad wait 10 seconds.
Push it in until the oven cavity light goes off indicating that the oven believes the door is closed.
You can then reach the latches locking the hinges in place.
Pull up the lock until they are fully over the oven door hooks.
Once inside the oven switch the lock from the inside of the oven.
It will look like a small black post or dowel.
Open the oven door.
Put the oven door in the ajar position and gently pull up by grasping either side.
Grasp the oven door on either side of the top near the handle.
With the door open locate the door jamb switch on the face of the oven.
Wipe down all of the mechanical parts with kitchen spray cleaner and a damp cloth to remove any grease and gunk that has.
If that does not unlock the door run a short self clean cycle 1 2 hours.
Bring the oven door all the way down letting it hang open at its lowest point.
If there is food in the oven let the oven cool to room temperature and try to unlatch the door.
