How to remove a glass patio sliding door frame step 1.
Removing sliding glass door frame.
You will be doing a lot of prying to free the frame from the door jamb.
Position the pry bar at the base of the trim pieces and pry upward to expose the trim s nail shafts.
Initial steps the sliding door also has a moving panel and a stationary panel along with a door frame.
Start by prying a flathead screwdriver to remove the threshold followed by unscrewing the brackets from the door at the top middle and bottom.
Remove the door by pulling it out of the top track of the door frame.
Use the phillips screwdriver to loosen the adjustment screws so you can pull up the rollers.
Use your cordless drill and philips drill bit to remove the door guide from the floor.
Do the same on both the left and right ends of the sliding door.
The door guide is usually located in the center of the doors.

Begin by grasping the door closest to you.

You may need the philips screwdriver again to free the door from the track.
The door should slide right out of the top track once you ve freed it from the bottom track.
Sometimes these screws are covered in plugs that are usually easy to remove.
Remove this cap because as you ll notice it is covering a gap inside of which is a screw.
Lift up to disengage the rollers from the top track and pull the door out.
At the bottom of this panel locate the position of the adjustment roller.
If you are completely removing the sliding glass door to install a new door you can now remove the door frame by using the pry bar.

You should now be able to freely lift the sliding glass door out of the frame and out of the track.
Once you remove all the screws lift the door up and make sure that it is completely removed from the bottom track of the door frame.
