Ring Doorbell Pro Chime Humming

My solution was to bypass the chime by wiring the pro power kit directly inline with the ring doorbell.

Was getting 12v out but only 6v at both chimes and ring doorbell. I ran brand new doorbell wire to support this installation. The chime only dings but does not dong or has other unusual behavior. Disconnected the ring doorbell and reinstalled old doorbell button.

The video doorbell pro doesn t ring your chime but the live stream video and other features still work. That worked successfully for a couple of weeks. All of a sudden last week after someone rang the bell the chime started vibrating and making a humming noise. I just installed a ring pro and connected the power kit to 1 of 2 mechanical doorbell chimes in our 1 year old house with a pre existing 16v transformer. I then replaced the transformer with a new 16v 30va transformer recommended for ring same issue. Problems can arise however when a doorbell mechanism draws so much power that there s not enough left over to power your ring video doorbell pro. I replaced the doorbell chime with a heath zenith 2735 from the approved list same issue.
